Island Love

After a stressful morning at work, I got to come home a bit early this afternoon to prepare for a work function tonight.

I had a couple of hours to spare, which seemed like the perfect length of time to finish the project I started last night - another carry bag for a cool box. This is one is for my Mother who, incidentally, has a weekend island of her own.

I know! Island love runs in the family!

Mum has land and a caravan on Bruny Island, off the coast of Tasmania where she lives.

Hopefully this will be just the right size for her to carry over a few essentials for her weekends there.

As for getting over to Karra, the next two weekends are looking unlikely now between courses and office moves and a trip to Byron Bay. I hope my herb garden will still be alive by the time we finally do make it back there...

  2. Aaah, you noticed my VJs!! Inspired by you of course. They need painting quite urgently though. Every time I threaten to do it hubby recoils in terror because I'm really quite terrible with a paint brush...

  3. I love the fabric! Bruny Island - that's a great place - I haven't been there for years!
Wow, a New Town house at 22!!! Prices have gone up so much we could only afford Moonah! Yes, it all takes a lot of time (money helps too) :)

  4. That bag looks great. Your mom is lucky. Can't remember the last time I made something for my mom.
So, I'm guessing, and I'm pretty sure, that you are in Australia?
Anyhow, I really like the pictures. You're good with the camera.
And, you have a dog who don't mind posing. Fun. I might suspect from the information that he's started his own dog blog - and that Rebel is one of his followers.
Love the way you can make your bed and fabric look so fresh, like in catalogues and magazines.

    One more thing, what's VJ's?

  5. A beautiful bag Eddie! Well your mum really wouldn't be a true Tasmanian without a little getaway at Bruny would she? hehehe.

  6. Lovely blog you have got! And your island project sounds amazing - just to have a place called Karra'D Away on an island off the coast of Australia... very exotic in my Swenglish ears!

Thank you so much for your nice comment on my blog and for visiting.
